In 1023 AD traders from the Italian Amalfi coast took charge of a hospice in Jerusalem, laying the foundations for the Johannine Orders which now flourish and provide hope to countless people across the world.

1000 later, we reflect on an ethos which lies at the very heart of the Orders of St John.
