The Inaugural Meeting of the Singaporean Branch of the St John Ophthalmic Association
30th May 2019
On the 30th May 2019, the Singaporean branch of the St John Ophthalmic Association was opened. The meeting took place after the conclusion of the Order’s Grand Council meeting in Singapore’s Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. The event was chaired by the SOA Patron, Surgeon Rear Admiral Lionel Jarvis, and included talks from Mr Verity, Prof Shen and Dr Teh, the Prior of the Priory in Singapore.
The SOA extends sincere thanks to all in Grand Council, our Patron, and the Singaporean Priory for their support for this new branch of the Asia Pacific chapter of the St John Ophthalmic Association.

A message of support from the Prior of Singapore
I am most happy as Prior of the Priory of Singapore to see the official launch and meeting of St John Ophthalmic Association (SOA) Singapore Branch under the leadership of Prof Sunny Shen.
The Priory of Singapore will do its upmost to support the local chapter and the works of SOA. All of us would like to see the success and growth in clinical excellence at the St John Eye Hospital in Jerusalem and under the leadership of Dr David Verity as Hospitaller. Coupled with his drive, dynamism and vision, I think this will come to fruition soon.
